Obama & Clinton split the states yesterday, but not the delegate count - Barak won the day overall. Currently the delegate count is:
Obama - 1845
Clinton - 1693
A reminder that 2024 delegates are needed to win.
The delegate count will be approximately split down the middle for the remaining primaries (about 109 delegates to each candidate). That brings the counts to:
Obama - 1954
Clinton - 1802
This translates into both candidates needing Super Delegate commitments to win the nomination. (Has anyone been noticing that more and more Super Delegates are quietly committing to Obama in the last couple of weeks? He is almost even with Clinton now.) Here is the number they need (out of 267 remaining to be decided):
Obama - 70
Clinton - 222
Maybe, finally, Clinton's camp will see the writing on the wall now. I guess it would be OK at this point if she waited until Oregon & Kentucky two weeks from now, but after that, I think she'll pack it in. The fat lady is dressed and warmed up, and will start singing any time now.
