Thanks a bunch, Plaxico

An open letter to Plaxico Burress:

Well, your team lost on Sunday. The Eagles' defense was really tough on your teammates. The Iggles really got in their faces and gave them very few options, especially in the passing game. Eli was 15 of 29 for 169 yards, with 2 INTs and 0 TDs. In fact, the entire team had 0 TDs. Your guys were 3 of 13 on 3rd down conversions. And 0 of 2 on crucial 4th down plays. And all of this while playing at home in front of more than 79,000 fans.

Oh, and where were you exactly? As one of the most feared wide receivers in all of professional football, were you on the field making plays? Were you on the field distracting the Eagles' defensive schemes and opening up plays for your teammates? Were you at least on the sidelines rooting on your Boys in Blue?

No. You are suspended. And you were home nursing a gunshot wound to your leg. A gunshot that came from your own gun. A gun that you possessed illegally. The trigger of which was pulled by you. Late at night, in a nightclub.

As my grandfather used to say, "Dummkopf!" I wonder if you now agree with and have taken to heart all of the people who have called your actions utterly idiotic. Not only did your actions cost you money in suspensions and fines (not to mention possible legal action), your absence on Sunday cost your teammates a shot at defending their Super Bowl championship.

So, while I do appreciate you catching that winning touchdown pass in last year's Super Bowl, what have you done for me lately? And now, with the water regretfully fully under the bridge, what are you going to do for me next? If you have no remorse over this whole sordid ordeal, I hope you get what you deserve and get traded to the Cowboys or Raiders. But if you want to make amends and get a clue and start acting like a man, I'd love to have you back next season.

Your choice.
