Recently I drove by Adlai Stevenson Elementary School. It struck me as an odd choice for a school name. Adlai Stevenson? A two-time loser to Eisenhower in his run for President? You gotta feel sorry for these kids – they always lose their basketball games against Eisenhower Elementary. Anyway, I’m sure good old Adlai had a nice life of public service (he served as IL governor and US ambassador to the UN), but seriously, are we just running out of names for schools now? No more Jeffersons or Washingtons or Lincolns I guess. That being said, here are some suggestions for new schools that need names:
Charlize Theron Jr. High
Uma Thurman Elementary
Halle Berry High
Catherine Zeta Jones Academy
Salma Hayek Middle School
Nicole Kidman Prep
Education at its finest!
